Cortney is an associate attorney in the Insurance Defense and Construction Litigation groups. She graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law in 2023, where she served as the Senior Note and Comment Editor for the International Law Review. She was also a student-attorney in the Entrepreneurship Clinic.
Cortney was sworn into the Maryland Bar in November 2023 and joined McCarthy Wilson in September 2024 after completing a clerkship with the Honorable David W. Lease of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Cortney is currently an active member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Inn of Court.
