Getting Out the Vote: McCarthy Wilson’s Active Support for the Campaign to Elect the Sitting Judges for Montgomery County Circuit Court

McCarthy Wilson proudly supported the Campaign to Elect the Sitting Judges for the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland. Our Senior Partner, Bob Hetherington, served as the Campaign Chair for the Committee to Elect the Sitting Judges, highlighting our commitment to maintaining the integrity of our judicial system. Judges Marybeth Ayres, Louis Leibowitz and Brad McCullough, appointed by former Governor Larry Hogan, and Judge Jennifer Fairfax, appointed by Governor Wes Moore, are poised to win 15-year terms following Tuesday’s Primary Election.

In a show of strong support, 16 McCarthy Wilson firm members worked in shifts at two polling stations to ensure a smooth voting process. Their dedication and efforts were crucial in facilitating an efficient and orderly Primary Election Day experience for voters. To celebrate these efforts and the anticipated positive outcome, the Campaign hosted a Watch Party for all the volunteers at Finnegan’s Wake in Rockville Town Center, where team members gathered to enjoy refreshments and await the election results.

With over 99% of precincts reporting, Ayres and Fairfax each held over 23% of the vote in the Democratic primary, Leibowitz had over 21%, and McCullough had just under 20%. Pierre, a recurring unsuccessful candidate, trailed the Judges by over 15,000 votes. The incumbents also dominated the Republican primary, ensuring their victory in November.

McCarthy Wilson remains dedicated to supporting our judicial system and ensuring the continued excellence of our courts through the election of experienced and vetted judges. Our active participation in the Campaign and efforts at polling stations underscore our commitment to upholding the integrity and fairness of the judicial election process.
