Brittany was raised on a show horse training and breeding farm in New England. She moved to the mid-Atlantic region for college, attending the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. While at Mary Washington, Brittany served as editor for her campus newspaper and earned her B.A. in English. After college, Brittany attended the George Washington University Law School, where she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class (Order of the Coif) and magna cum laude.
Brittany’s article, Safe Haven Reopening: Lowering the Custody Modification Standard to Reopen an Initial Agreement in Cases of Domestic Violence, was published in the Family Court Review in October of 2018. She was awarded first place in the nationally recognized 2018 Hofstra/AFCC Legal Writing Competition for the publication.
During her second and third years of law school, Brittany also clerked for McCarthy Wilson. Before returning to McCarthy Wilson after law school, Brittany served for one year as law clerk to The Honorable Gary E. Bair of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland.
Outside of work, Brittany enjoys marathon training, showing Saddlebred horses, skiing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
